Liquid:
1 cup molasses
1 egg
2/3 cup boiling water
1 tsp. baking soda, mixed into 1 tbsp boiling water


How Do I Make Wet Bottom Shoo-Fly Pie?

Here is how you make Wet Bottom Shoo-Fly Pie:

Mix flour, brown sugar, and margarine by hand to form crumbs. Set aside 1/2 cup for top of pie, Beat egg and mix with molasses. Add 2/3 cup hot water and stir. Add baking soda to the 1 tbsp hot water and add to mixture. Pour the crumbs (except for the 1/2 cup held out) into the liquid and mix well. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Slowly spread the 1/2 cup crumbs on top. Crimp foil around edges of crust to prevent over-browning.
