1 Tbsp Granulated Sugar for meringue

Add cream of tarter to egg whites and beat on "whip" setting until stiff, slowly add sugar & continue to whip until whites start to peak. Top pie filling with meringue making peaks with spatula. Cook at 400 approx 5-8 min or until peaks turn golden brown, watch carefully to keep from burning.
