Make chocolate pudding according to package directions (mix with milk and beat with wire wisk for two minutes). In a separate bowl, combine Cool Whip and peanut butter. Layer half of the pudding in the bottom of 6 parfait glasses, or a glass serving bowl, followed with the Cool Whip mixture and topped with the rest of the pudding mixture. For presentation, you may put a dap of Cool Whip on the top if each parfait glass and sprinkle with peanuts.
