What Are The Ingredients For Basic Rolled Fondant Recipe?The ingredients for Basic Rolled Fondant are: 1/2 oz unflavored gelatin1/4 C. water 2 T. crisco 1/2 C. glucose or corn syrup if you have to 3/4 oz glycerin 2 lb powdered sugar sieved 3 times 2-3 drops clear flavored extract of your choice How Do I Make Basic Rolled Fondant?Here is how you make Basic Rolled Fondant: Dissolve gelatin in water over gentle heat. Add shortening, glucose, and glycerin and beat till shortening is melted. Mix well. Put sugar into a large bowl and make a well in the center. Pour warm liquid into the well and mix with your hands to a dough like consistency. Transfer to a smooth surface covered with non stick spray that is dusted with cornstarch. Knead until smooth and pliable. Add flavoring while you are kneading it. If it is too stiff add in a drop or two of hot water. Use immediately or store in air tight container at room temp for up to a week. Knead again before rolling it out. If you have to store it more than a week you can refridgerate it but bring it to room temp before kneading it and rolling it out. This covers a 8" square that is 3" high or a 9" round that is 3" high. This can easily be doubled or more.
