My husband asked me to make snickerdoodles and I found that most recipes require cream of tartar - which I don't keep on hand. I tried this recipe last night from the food network (Gale Gand) that doesn't use cream of tartar and LOVE it! It may not be authentic but they're GOOD! The cookies came out just the way I like them: chewy and stayed chewy the next day. Not exactly a low-fat food but we need a treat every now and then, don't we?
