Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a 13x9 inch pan. In a large bowl, combine the sugar and 3 T. flour. Add the cherries, tossing gently to coat. Stir in the almond extract. Spoon the mixture into the prepared pan.In a medium bowl, combine the oats, brown sugar, and the remaining 1/4 c. flour. Using a pastry blender, cut in the butter until the mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle over the cherry mixture. Bake until hot and bubbly and the topping is golden brown, about 30 minutes.
