What Are The Ingredients For Turkish Baklava Recipe?The ingredients for Turkish Baklava are: 3 cups sugar2 cups water juice from 1/2 lemon 1 1/2 cup butter, melted 2 packages Fillo Dough, fine (#4) chopped walnuts 1/2" circumference dowel rod (or something similar) How Do I Make Turkish Baklava?Here is how you make Turkish Baklava: Several hours prior to baking (overnight is best), boil sugar, water and lemon until sugar is completely dissolved, and place in refrigerator to chill. Roll out fillo pastry and spread 2 tbsp of butter evenly across fillo sheet. Fold 2 sheets in half, and roll the fillo onto the dowel rod (or anything that similar in circumference). Squeeze the fillo on the dowel rod until its crinkled, push off dowel rod, cut in half and arrange each piece in a spiral, and place on baking sheet. You may not need the full 2 boxes of fillo (I usually only need about 1 2/3 total. Bake on 350 for 30-35 minutes until golden. As soon as you remove baklava from the oven, pour the chilled sugar water evenly over the tray and let it soak. Enjoy!Makes 48 pieces.
