What Are The Ingredients For Mj's Slow Cooker Beef Stew Recipe?The ingredients for Mj's Slow Cooker Beef Stew are: 1-1.5 lb. beef stewing meat ( cubed )2 carrots ( chopped ) 1 large onion ( chopped ) 6 small or new potatoes ( cut in half or quarters ) 8 med. mushrooms ( cut in half ) 2-1/2lb ( half the bag ) frozen mixed veggies 6-8 cups water 1/2 cup pearl tapioca 1tsp salt 2-3 tsp pepper 3Tbs basil 2 pkgs brown gravy mix ( 25% less sodium if you can find it ) How Do I Make Mj's Slow Cooker Beef Stew?Here is how you make Mj's Slow Cooker Beef Stew: Brown beef in pan over medium heat and place in slowcooker along with juices. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Mix gravy packets with water before adding to slowcooker. Add the rest of the ingredients EXCEPT frozen veggies and mushrooms. Mix well. Cover and cook on Low for 8-10 hours, or High for 4-5 hours. About half way into cooking prepare mushrooms and add to slowcooker. Add frozen mixed veggies during the last 2 hours of cooking.* If you like spicy as much as I do then you can spice this dish up by adding 2-3 tsp. of Cayenne pepper :)*Gravy* I buy the 25% less sodium brand at my Safeway store, but Spark Recipes does not have have that in their library so the sodium content of MY actual made recipe is a lot lower than my written recipe.
