I medium head fresh cabbage- cored and boiled until soft - Do NOT cut!- you want the leaves whole so you can roll them around the meat.
1 cup basmati rice rinsed and drained
10 cloves garlic
3 teas salt( notice I didn't include the extra 2 teas in the count because most of it stays in the liquid you dump and that would make the salt count way off)
1/5 teas pepper
1/2 teas cinnamon
3 large fruits worth of lemon juice( at least .5 cup total- more is OK)
2 cups water or more
2 large potatos- peeled and sliced across into 1/4 inch rounds

Here is how you make Cabbage Rolls ( Malfoof):

Remove core and boil cabbage until soft enough to roll- set aside to coolIn a large bowl mix rice, beef, 1 teas salt, pepper, cinnamon, and 2 cloves crushed garlic. Only work until just mixed- over mixing will make the meat tough. Spread roughly .25 cup in a leaf of cabbage- tuck the ends then roll- makes about 21 or so rolls. Place potatos on bottom of large pot- place rolls over potatos- add additional salt, lemon juice and additional 8 cloved garlic- sliced in half- to enough water to just cover. ** if you want a tomato flavor add 1 -5oz can tomato paste to water before pouring over rolls if you like. Cover and cook over med high until boiling- then turn down and simmer just below boiling for 45 -55 minutes.
