2 Tbsp. Flour
1 c. 1% Milk
2 oz Kraft 2% Mild Cheddar, shredded
2 oz Kraft 2% Sharp Cheddar, shredded
6 oz Turkey Sausage (optional)
1 c frozen creamed spinach
6 oz Ronzoni Whole Wheat Pasta
2 Tbsp Bread Crumbs
1 oz Parmesan Cheese, shredded
1 Tbsp Butter (optional)
Salt and Pepper to taste


How Do I Make Baked Macaroni and Cheese Casserole?

Here is how you make Baked Macaroni and Cheese Casserole:

Preheat oven at 350.Cook sausage and pasta as directed. Defrost creamed spinach and set aside. Transfer cooked sausage to paper towel to drain (slice to bite sized cuts once cooled) and strain water from pasta and place back into pot off heat. In clean pan, warm milk over medium heat for 1-2 minutes. Whisk in the 2 Tbsp flour. Continue to whisk over medium heat until the sauce thickens, about 10 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste. Turn heat to lowest setting and add small portions of cheddar cheeses at a time, until melted. Combine melted cheese, creamed spinach, and sausage with pasta. Spray your casserole container to prevent sticking. Add combined macaroni into casserole container, spread bread crumbs and parmesan cheese over top, if using butter divide over top of crumbs as well. Bake in oven until top is golden brown, about 20-25 minutes. If you like a browner crust, like I do, place under broiler for about 1 minute. Allow to cool for a few minutes and enjoy.Make about 4 servings.
