either an 8by8 casserole pan or 6 (single serving custard or creme brulee dishes) Must be Oven safe!

2 servings onion garlic puree( see my other recipe for this)
7oz whole wheat penne pasta( as small a size as you can find)
( the 7 oz measurement is dry)
2/3 cup greek yogurt( lo or no fat)
.25- .5 teas red pepper( how much bite do you like?)
1 teas dry mustard powder
1.5 cups extra sharp cheese grated(if you use normal cheddar you have to add 2 cups to get the extra flavor)
.25 cups parmesan- grated or shredded
.25 cups panko crumbs.


How Do I Make Whole Wheat Macaroni and Sharp Cheese?

Here is how you make Whole Wheat Macaroni and Sharp Cheese:

Make the onion garlic puree aheadpreheat the oven to 425Bring salted water to boil and cook pasta until just UNDER being "done" ( usually 2 min less than directions call for)meanwhile in a large pot heat the onion garlic puree, cheddar, mustard, & pepper until cheese melts. Remove from heat and add the yogurt. Stir until smooth and incorporated well. When pasta is just shy of "Al dente" Remove from heat and drain- mix with cheese mix well and spoon into either casserole dish or individual serving dishes. Sprinkle parm and panko evenly over all and bake 30 to 40 minutes until golden and bubbling. Serving Size: makes 6 brulee/individual dishes or 6 servings in an 8x8 dish.
