4 chicken leg quarters, skinned and cut into 8 pieces

1 T butter
1 T chicken fat
12 oz onion, sliced thin
3 cloves garlic, minced

Here is how you make CHICKEN WITH CARROTS AND CABBAGE:

In a medium saucepan, bring the broth to a boil, and add the carrots, splenda, pepper, and salt. Reduce the heat, cover and cook for about 30 minutes.While the carrots are cooking, cook the cabbage in boiling water for 5 minutes. Drain.Sprinkle the chicken on both sides with the herb mix and additional pepper.In a large, deep skillet, heat the butter and oil and brown the chicken on both sides. Transfer to a bowl.Add the onions and garlic to the skillet, and cook the vegetables, stirring, for about 5 minutes. Add the cabbage and cook for another 3 minutes. Season with pepper.Return the chicken to the skillet with any juices that may have collected in the bowl. Cover the skillet and simmer the chicken for 35 minutes.Add the carrots and their cooking liquid to the skillet.
