10 0z egg noodles
2 cans 99 % fat free chicken broth
3 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt

Here is how you make Chicken and Dumplings, Yankee modified:

Place chicken in a pot and cover with water. Add chopped onion and 1 carrot and 1 celery rib to give the broth flavor. Do not add the other carrots and celery yet as they will overcook. Boil the chicken until done. Remove chicken from pot and allow to cool.Remove meat from chicken and discard bones. Return chicken to pot. Add remaining carrots and celery and cook until tender. In a seperate pot, cook egg noodles. Add cooked egg noodles to pot. If you think it needs more broth, add 1 can of chicken broth and a bit of water.Mix flour and salt together. Stir in chicken broth. Turn out onto floured surface. knead just until no longer sticky. Roll out and cut into pieces using a pizza cutter to create dumplings.Make sure the broth in the chicken pot is boiling. Drop the dumplings into the pot one at a time making sure to submerge them under the broth at least once. Reduce heat to simmer. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes without peeking.
