1 teaspoon black pepper
4 cups chicken stock
1 cup water
2 Tablespoons fresh parsley

1-1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk (or water)
1 Tablespoons olive oil
1 Tablespoon fresh thyme, finely chopped

Heat olive oil in a large stock pot; add celery, carrots, and onion. Cook for 5 minutes. Add salt, pepper and cumin. Stir. Add chicken and stock; bring to a boil.
