White Wine-Glazed Chicken thighs

This chicken recipe uses just a little bit of "naughty" ingredients like butter to make an entree that's very easy to cook and tastes much more decadent than it actually is! That might seem like a lot of garlic, but it mellows a lot in the pan. It's true chicken thighs are a bit higher in fat than chicken breasts, so feel free to substitute. However, chicken thighs are a more economical choice (about half the price of breasts where I'm from), and what they lose in calorie content they make up for in taste and vitamin content.

How Do I Make White Wine-Glazed Chicken thighs?

Here is how you make White Wine-Glazed Chicken thighs:

Wash and dry the chicken thighs. Dust lightly with salt and freshly ground pepper. Set aside.Melt the butter in a saucepan on low-medium heat. When the butter has begun to separate but not brown, toss in the chopped garlic and onion. Cook on low heat until they are soft and beginning to brown. Turn the heat up to medium.Place chicken thighs in pan, salt and pepper side down. Cook on one side for about 5 minutes. Sprinkle half the wine in the pan. It should boil down quite quickly. Turn the chicken thighs and cook for another few minutes. Sprinkle the rest of the wine in the pan and continue cooking until chicken is done. That's usually another 5-10 minutes, but it depends entirely on your stove and the pan you're using, so check to see if the chicken is ready by cutting into one of the thighs at its thickest part. They're done when the juice runs clear. When they're done, transfer the chicken to a serving plate and pour the glaze over top.Don't worry too much about overcooking the chicken; the great thing about chicken thighs is that they're nearly impossible to overdo!Number of Servings: 2Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user BLUESENOUGH.
