In a slow cooker heat olive oil, chopped onion, chopped green pepper, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, water, chicken broth, salt, thyme, cayenne pepper, black pepper, raw chicken breast cut in small pieces and barley. Set slow cooker high for 4 hours. Just prior to serving stir in cooked ham and sliced or chopped olives. Heat through and serve.
