Heat dutch oven or skillet to med. Brown chopped onion in shortening. Mix together salt, pepper and paprika while onion is browning(translucent). Add chicken thighs. Evenly distribute spice mix over chicken thighs. Brown thighs 5 minutes, flip thighs and brown the other side for 5 minutes. Add water, cover and turn heat down. Simmer for 20 minutes or until thighs are cooked through. Turn half-way. Mix flour and sour cream and set aside. Remove chicken thighs and set aside. Add sour cream mixture to drippings in pan. Return thighs to pan, turn heat to warm and simmer until noodles are ready. Serve together.
