1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast

1/2 lb lean Italian sausage (mild or spicy)

Carrots - about a cup, chopped into matchstick size

Broccoli - about a cup and a half, chopped florets

Onion - cut into large wedges or pieces

Sun dried tomatoes, about 1/2 cup chopped

Garlic - 3-4 finely chopped cloves

Olive Oil - 3 Tbsp

Frank's Red Hot (or any other hot sauce) 3 Tbsp

Cooked pasta, 8 oz - we like bowtie, but any will work


How Do I Make Spicy Chicken Pasta Stir Fry?

Here is how you make Spicy Chicken Pasta Stir Fry:

Cut chicken into desired size and stir fry, using part of the oil. Remove from pan, and cook Italian sausage links. Once they are done, remove from pan and slice into bite-sized pieces. In same pan, using remaining oil as needed, stir fry veggies, starting with carrots and adding onion and broccoli. Add cooked meat. Meanwhile, cook pasta till not quite done. Drain and hold in drainer. Add garlic and dried tomatoes, followed by pasta, remaining oil and red hot sauce. Stir fry on medium high heat, stirring till everything is coated lightly in oil and sauce, and pasta is done. Serve with additional hot sauce on the side for those who like it REALLY spicy.** Any veggie can be used for this dish - these are just our favorites. We've also replaced broccoli with asparagus.**My preferred method of cooking the broccoli is to put the raw vegetable in the bottom of the strainer I'm using to drain the pasta - the boiling water and pasta steam the broccoli, allowing for less actual stirfry time, making for a more tender product.**We've used a variety of meats in this dish - we've used pepperoni and shrimp, interchangeably with the chicken and the sausage.
