What Are The Ingredients For Chicken and Rice with Garbonzo Beans Recipe?The ingredients for Chicken and Rice with Garbonzo Beans are: 6 chicken thighs2 cinnamon sticks 1 16 oz can of Garbonzo beans 1/2 white or yellow onion, chopped 2 Tbsp margarine 1 cup brown rice 2 cups chicken stock (reserved from boiling chicken) 1/4 tsp salt 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon plain yogurt How Do I Make Chicken and Rice with Garbonzo Beans?Here is how you make Chicken and Rice with Garbonzo Beans: Place chicken and cinnamon sticks in large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil then cover and simmer until chicken is done (about 20 minutes). Keep covered and let cool. Once cooled, remove cinnamon sticks and drain, reserving 2 cups of chicken stock. Remove meat from bone and throw away bone and grissel. Using pot chicken was cooked in (without washing or rinsing) saute onion and garbonzo beans in butter until onion turns clear. Layer chicken back in a nice arrangement on top of beans and onions. Add rice and chicken broth (do not stir). Sprinkle in salt and cinnamon. Bring to a boil then cover and let simmer until all liquid is absorbed (about 40 minutes or so). Flip out onto platter. Serve with a garnish of plain yougurt (about 1 Tbsp - not included in nutritional information).
