Turkish Dish; first had this when stationed at Incirlik AB, Turkey. It is absolutely amazing! Serve with Ekmek (flat bread and honey butter). YUUUUUMMMMM! Also, you can substitute fat free feta to lessen calories/fat content. What Course Is Chicken Tava?Chicken Tava is for Dinner. How Long Does Chicken Tava Recipe Take To Prepare?Chicken Tava takes 10 minutes to prepare. How Long Does Chicken Tava Recipe Take To Cook?Chicken Tava takes 30 minutes to cook. How Many Servings Does Chicken Tava Recipe Make?Chicken Tava makes 6 servings. What Are The Ingredients For Chicken Tava Recipe? The ingredients for Chicken Tava are: 2 tbs Olive Oil4 boneless/skinless Chicken Breast, diced 4 tsp Garlic 1/2 onion, diced - 1/2 cut in half 1 can Diced Tomatoes (seasoned kind - ok), juices drained 2 jars Roasted Red Peppers, juices drained Brown Rice 1 cup Feta Cheese, crumbled 2 tsp Jalapeno Peppers (optional for "kick") sliced mushrooms (optional) fresh spinach (optional) How Do I Make Chicken Tava? Here is how you make Chicken Tava: 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a medium casserole dish (I like to use a large cast iron dutch oven pan).2. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan over medium heat, and add the garlic and diced onions to saute for a minute, then add the chicken and cook until chicken juices run clear.3. While chicken is cooking, get your rice cooking. Then puree the other half of onion and the roasted red peppers in a blender or food processor until smooth. (Since my kids don't like tomatoes, I also puree them too. This is where I puree the "optional" mushrooms and spinach ~ the kids never know they're getting so many vegetables in one dish!). When the chicken is cooked, add the puree mixture to the pan. It should look like a spaghetti sauce with diced chicken. I stir in a small container of feta cheese to the sauce/chicken. Cover and bake in oven for about 30 minutes to allow tastes to blend and cheese to melt. While this is in the oven, prepare a small dish of honey butter (I make my own: use butter and honey, amounts to your own tastes.) Spread on flat bread (that can be purchased on the bread aisle or bakery at any grocery store). Warm in oven until butter is melted. 4. Remove bread and Tava from oven, add a little extra feta for garnish, and serve over rice. This recipe can be improvised to suit what ever tastes you have. The main ingredients however are the roasted red pepper sauce and feta cheese.Number of Servings: 6Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user BLESSED2BME3.What's The Nutritional Info For Chicken Tava? The nutritional information for Chicken Tava is:
