Here is how you make Misha's Chicken Rice Casserole:

Cut Chicken into pieces 1" or smaller. Heat 2 teaspoons in skillet to shimmering. Cook chicken in the skillet till pinkness is gone from the center. Remove chicken form skillet into a bowl and set aside.Heat last teaspoon oil and add onions. Sweat the onions. Add rice. If using raw, fresh mushrooms, add now. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Add optional minced garlic. Cook for 30 seconds. Add broth & return chicken to skillet. Bring to boil briefly. Reduce heat to simmer. Cover. Allow to simmer until have the liquid is gone.Add vegetables to the mixture including possible canned mushrooms. Stir to incorporate the addition. Recover. Simmer.Monitor fluid after 5 minutes. When the mixture is just "wet", cover the top with the cheese slices. Cover & simmer to melt cheese.Uncover. Remove from heat and allow to cool 5 minutes.Many options can be changed. This is basic.
