How Do I Make Jill's Chicken Sausage Rotini Bake?

Here is how you make Jill's Chicken Sausage Rotini Bake:

Start the sauce by adding the tomato sauce, 3 1/2 tbsp basil, 1 tsp sugar and 3 tbsp Parmesan cheese to a pot. Slowly bring to a boil and then reduce and let simmer. You can salt to taste if you like, but this will increase the sodium level.I grill my sausages until they are almost fully cooked. After cooking, set them on a paper towel lined paper plate to drain off any excess fat. Once the sausage has cooled, slice on a diagonal about 1/2 inch thick. Boil pasta per directions.Mix ricotta and marscapone cheese. Add 1 tbsp of grated Parmesan cheese and the remainder of the basil. Once pasta has been drained well pour into a 13x9 rectangular pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Add sauce with a ladle until you have a good ratio of pasta and sauce (this will be a personal choice). Spread the ricotta mixture over the layer of pasta and sauce. Next layer the sliced sausage over the top and add a little more of the sauce. I top the sausage with the Kraft FF shredded Mozerella cheese (I used the whole bag). Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 40 minutes. If you want to lower the sodium level I suggest using no salt added tomato sauce. I serve this dish with roasted veggies and a nice romaine salad.Serving Size: Makes approximately 12 one cup servingsNumber of Servings: 12Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user JILLKUTY05.
