2 lbs ground beef
1 can rotel (mild, original, or hot)
1 medium onion (chopped in bite size pieces)
1 T Olive oil
1 Can no or Low sald Black Beans
Approx 1/2 cup flour
5 cups water, 1 cup separated
1-2 cloves of garlic (crushed)
Ground Cumin
Chili Powder
Salt & Pepper to taste


How Do I Make Homemade Chili and Black Beans?

Here is how you make Homemade Chili and Black Beans:

In large pan, cook onion and garlic in olive oil until onion starts to look kind of see through. Add ground beef and cook thoroughly. While beef is cooking, add some ground cumin and chili powder for taste. You can add as much or as little as you want, or flavor your meat as you like. Once ground beef is cooked thorought, strain excess fat. Add can of rotel and beans. Do not drain either. The juices give flavor. Add remaining ground cumin and chili powder.Bring to boil, then simmer for about 15-20 minutes. (longer if preferred. The longer it is simmered, the better the flavor.) Take flour, add enough water and mix into liquid. Add enough water so it is not a paste, but liquid. Slowly pour into simmering chili while stirring. You can add more or less depending on how thick you want your chili. Simmer another 10-15 minutes or so. Add salt and pepper to taste. If taste is not right, add more cumin or chili powder until you are satisfied. Let cool a little before serving. Caution: the chili powder may make the chili hotter as well!
