This is exactly how I made this today. These ingredients are what I had on hand. Normally I use Hunt's Traditional Spaghetti sauce or I add little cans of plain tomato sauce to add volume. I also normally use a can of canned chili beans (undrained) , that reduces the need to use chili powder or at least as much as I did. What Are The Ingredients For Today's Chili Recipe?The ingredients for Today's Chili are: Spaghetti Sauce (2 cans) any flavor1 can Pinto beans (drained and rinsed) 1 can Dark Red Kidney Beans (drained and rinsed) 1 can Light Red Kidney Beans (drained and rinsed) 1 can Blackeye Peas (drained and rinsed) 2 cans diced Italian style tomatoes 1 lb lean ground beef 1/2 cup diced onions Garlic Salt Italian Seasoning Chili Powder Pepper How Do I Make Today's Chili?Here is how you make Today's Chili: I use a 6 quart crock pot so I estimate this makes about 20 1 cup servings.Brown the ground beef adding the garlic salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and diced onions. Once the meat is browned I drain it in a colander and rinse. I let it sit while I open cans.Empty spaghetti sauce and tomatoes into crockpot. Add the ground beef to the sauce.Open cans of beans and empty into the colander and rinse. Put into the crockpot. I rinse the beans because I find when I don't there is an after taste, also, I hope that some of the sodium is in the liquid and therefore eliminated.Add in desired amount of chili powder.Turn on the crockpot and simmer as long as you want. We usually let it cook for at least a few hours. The beans soften and all the flavors meld together.
