Use sieve to strain crumbs, reserve liquid. Saute onion and apple in butter until softened, about 12 min. Do not let it burn. Add almonds, raisins, curry powder, pepper (to taste) and sugar; saute few minutes longer. In large bowl, beat one egg and add ground lamb. Add soaked (liquid squeezed out) bread crumbs. Add prepared onion/curry mixture and mix together by hand. Put entire mixture into prepared, greased 9 x 9 casserole, press to level. Bake in 350 degree preheated oven. After 30 minutes remove and carefully drain grease from casserole while holding meat inside dish. (Upside-down into sink works well)Whisk two eggs with reserved cream/milk mixture and .5 tsp salt. Pour this evenly over meat. Return to 350 degree oven and bake 15-20 minutes until custard has set. Serving Size: Cook in 9 x 9 casserole.
