It's not your regular catsup on top of the meatloaf recipe but is sweet and tangy with enough extra sauce to go on the red skinned mash potatoes or brown rice sides.. What Are The Ingredients For Saucy Meat Loaf Recipe?The ingredients for Saucy Meat Loaf are: 1.5 lbs extra lean ground beef (can substitute 1/2 lb of ground turkey if you like.)1 C whole grain bread crumbs made from sliced bread 1/3 C oat bran 1 medium chopped onion 1 beaten egg 1 1/4 tsp salt 1/4 tsp pepper 1 14oz can tomatoe sauce (or close to it) 1 14oz can salt free stewed tomatoes 3 - 4 packets of Splenda ( or to taste) 3 Tbsp cider vinegar 3 Tbsp Dijon mustard 1/2 - 1 C water (depending on how thick you like your sauces) How Do I Make Saucy Meat Loaf?Here is how you make Saucy Meat Loaf: Set oven at 350.Combine first 7 ingredients and 1/3 C of tomato sauce and 1/3 C stewed tomatoes that have been processed in either hand held or regular food processor to a puree. I usually saute the onion until translucent before adding to the mix to make sure they get completely done.Shape into a loaf and place in vegetable oil sprayed baking dish with about 3" high sides (to hold the extra sauce). Mix rest of processed stewed tomatoes and sauce with remaining ingredients and pour one half over meat loaf and put remainder in a small sauce pan and simmer to thicken a little.
