Yummy Pasta Recipe
Yummy Pasta

I threw this dinner together (literally) with Dreamfields pasta - which is supposed to be much better than regular pasta because the carbs don't get digested. It was very yummy. *I added the shrimp because I felt like it, they don't have to be added.

The ingredients for Yummy Pasta are:

1 lb Ground Chicken
1 14 oz can petite diced tomatoes, undrained
1/2 lb Cooked Shrimp (mine was frozen, cooked)
1 15.5 oz can cannellini beans
1 13.25 oz box Dreamfields Penne
About 1/2 cup white wine, maybe more
Italian Seasoning
Black Pepper
Garlic Powder (optional, only add if it needs more garlic)
1/2 small onion, sliced thin
2-3 cloves garlic, minced
1 Tbsp Oilve Oil, approx
1 8 oz can tomato sauce
Broccoli Florets (I used Eat Smart Broccoli Florets, 1/2 bag)
Feta Cheese, to top

How Do I Make Yummy Pasta?

Here is how you make Yummy Pasta:

In a large pot or skillet, heat Olive Oil over medium heat. Add the ground chicken, breaking into large pieces when cooked halfway through. Turn the chicken pieces over, and when cooked thoroughly, use a spatula to break into bite-sized pieces. If the pan is big enough, move the chicken to one side of the skillet (or just remove and add later) and add the onions and garlic, cook about 5 minutes. Meanwhile, drain the cannellini beans and rinse well. To the chicken/onion/garlic add diced tomatoes, and Italian seasoning. Add the white wine and lower the heat to simmer. Meanwhile, in a separate pot, add water and boil; when boiling, add the broccoli and cook until softened, about 4-5 minutes. Remove Broccoli and set aside. If needed, add more water and bring to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package directions. When finished, reserve a cup of the cooking water, drain the pasta and keep in the strainer. Add the tomato sauce and cooking water to the sauce, stir. Turn the heat to just under medium and when the sauce starts to bubble, add the cannellini beans and broccoli, stir. Add the shrimp (I just rinsed mine and added them, since they were frozen.) and cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer about 5 minutes. When ready to serve, add the pasta to the sauce, stir thoroughly and serve. Top with a sprinkle of feta cheese.Serving Size:?Makes about 8 servings, more if served as an appetizer
