All pieces should be the same size, about the size of peas.Once the water is boiling add the pasta and allow to come to the boil. Cook according to instructions on the packet.At the same time heat a large frying pan and add the oil. Saute the chopped vegetables until tender but not browned. Stir in flour and allow to cook for a few minutes then gradually pour in tomatoes, a little at a time, stirring continuously until all combined.Cook for 5 minutes or longer to allow to thicken.Beat egg well and add a little of the tomato sauce to heat it slightly.
