2 tbs. water

8 basil leaves, roughly chopped

1 tsp. ground ginger

Here is how you make Thai Basil Pork:

Heat a large skillet or wok over medium high heat. Add oil and heat until it begins to ripple. Season chicken strips with salt and pepper and cook in hot oil until lightly browned, about 5-6 minutes. Add in shallot, bell pepper, jalapeno, and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 more minutes.In a small bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, lime juice, water, and ginger. Add to the wok and stir chicken and vegetable mixture to coat. Reduce heat and continue cooking for 5 minutes to thicken sauce.Serve over white rice.*This dish would be equally delicious with any other protein, such as thinly sliced pork, beef or even shrimp (if you are a seafood fan).
