1 T. olive oil
1 can black beans, drained
1 smoked bratwurst (Johnsonville)
3 T. crushed garlic
2 t. cumin
1 T. chili powder
1 T. onion powder
2 t. crushed red pepper
2 t. creole seasoning
1/2 cup reduced fat cheddar cheese
2 green onions, chopped


How Do I Make Black Beans and Wild Rice?

Here is how you make Black Beans and Wild Rice:

Combine rice and olive oil with 2 1/2 cups water. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat , stir once, cover and allow to simmer for 45 minutes. In the meantime, drain and rinse beans and set aside. Chop bratwurst into 1/4 inch pieces and set aside. Chop green onions. After rice has been cooking for 20 minutes, add bratwurst, garlic and spices to the pot. Cover and continue to simmer. When 10 minutes remain, add beans to the pot and recover.
