1 lb small red beans or red kidney beans

2 whole onions
1 green bell pepper
3 cloves garlic

1/2 t cayene pepper
1/4 t thyme
1/2 t black pepper
2 bay leaves
1 T worcestershire sauce
1/2 t hot sauce
4 oz can tomato sauce
2 c fresh parsley

Here is how you make Red Beans, rice optional:

Soak beans overnight.Put beans and enough soaking water to make 2 quarts in large pot. Put over medium heat.In the morning, saute vegetables until soft and carmelized, adding salt as desired. Add to bean pot. Add spices and continue to simmer. Add fresh parsley just before serving. Simmer for a total of 6 hours for best results. (add water if needed, but try for a thick consistency before serving time.)Many serve with rice, but I haven't included rice in the nutritional information.
