Here is how you make Vegetarian Red Beans and Rice:

Overnight, in 6 cups of water, soak 2 cups dried kidney beans. Drain and rinse well. (Can use canned beans, skip the soaking.)Cook in kettle with:Onion, garlic, and 2 quarts (8 cups) boiling water for 45 minutes. Then add:TVP granules, chili powder, and cumin. Continue cooking until tender, 20-40 minutes. Most of the liquid should have cooked into the beans and TVP. Taste and add salt, if necessary.Meanwhile, cook brown rice according to package directions.
