Add onion and saute until translucent and soft, about 8 minutes. Add green tomatoes, jalapeno, garlic, and oregano and continue to saute another 1 - 2 minutes stirring constantly.Add all other ingredients, stirr well and increase heat to high. Once mixture begins to boil, immediately reduce heat to low, cover and simmer about 40 minutes or until all broth has been absorbed and rice is tender.
