How Do I Make Stovetop Burger, Rice, and Veggies?

Here is how you make Stovetop Burger, Rice, and Veggies:

Heat large, deep fry pan (texas skillet) with 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil and add sliced and chopped veggies. Add seasonings to your taste. I use garlic pepper and a bit of sea salt. Cover and let cook, stirring occassionally. Cook until all veggies are crisp tender or a bit more. Approximately 4-6 min. at medium heat. Remove from pan and set aside. In the same pan, brown hamburger. Again, add seasonings to your taste. I use black pepper and sea salt. While the burger is cooking, steam your brown rice in the microwave according to package directions. Drain hamburger and add cooked veggies back in. Add the cooked rice and stir all together. We have added a bit of soy sauce at the end and a bit of stir fry sauce. These condiments can be added individually too. They are not necessary. We usually enjoy this meal with a couple of slices of marble rye bread from the bakery.Serving Size: makes 6 1-cup servingsNumber of Servings: 6Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user LISAANND.
