6 cup (8 fl oz) Water
2 stalk, large (11"-12" long) Celery, raw
8.5 oz Onion, sweet, raw
1 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
3 tsp Better than Bouillon Vegetable Base
1 tsp Fresh Ground Black Pepper
5.5 oz thick sliced Ham

Here is how you make Split Green Pea Soup with Ham:

Wash and chop the celery stalks with leaves on, and dice the onion. In large stock pot, saute the celery and onion in one tablespoon olive oil. Add 2 cloves fresh minced garlic. Stir well. Wash and drain the dried split peas, removing any odd pieces. Add the peas to the vegetable sautee and mix well. Dice the ham and add ham, the water and bouillon to the pot, add ground pepper, stir well. Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer (do NOT cover).
