1 pound ground turkey

1/2 cup drained tomatoes
3 tablespoons flour
2 cups milk
2 cups (about 10 oz cubed Cheddar Cheese_
salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg Cayenne to taste Grated Parmesan cheese

Here is how you make Macaroni, Ground Turkey, and Cheese Casserole:

Preheat oven to 450 degress.Drop macaroni in boiling water and cook until barely tender. It will continue to cook in the oven. Drain in a colander and place under cold running water.In a skillet, heat 1.5 tablespoons butter and add the onion and green pepper. Cook stirring until onion is wilted. Add meat, cook, stirring until brown. add basil, oregano, and tomatoes. Cook 3 minutes. In a saucepan, heat the remaining butter and stir in the flour, using a whisk. Add the milk, stirring rapidly with the whisk. Cook, stirring about 5 minutes. Remove the sauce from the heat and stir in the cheddar cheese. Stir until it melts. Add salt and pepper to taste, nutmeg, and cayenne.Spoon macaroni into a baking dish. Ours measured 7x10. Spoon the meat mixture over the macaroni and pour the cheese sauce over all. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese and bake 30 minutes or until hot and bubbling throughout. Run under the broiler briefly to glaze. Serving Size:?Makes 4 to 6 servings. I have calulated for 6 servings.
