The ingredients for Chive Turkey Jalapenos are:

30 small jalapeno peppers
8 oz. lean turkey ham or smoked turkey
4 oz. container of Philadelphia Light Chives and Onion cream cheese (1/2 container) (Substitute other interesting flavors if you wish)
1.5 tablespoons of dried cilantro
1 teaspoon of curry powder (we prefer the red curry)
1 teaspoon paprika
1 tablespoon of minced garlic
8 slices of maple cured bacon cut into 1/4 slice pieces (the maple makes a difference!)


How Do I Make Chive Turkey Jalapenos?

Here is how you make Chive Turkey Jalapenos:

1. Cut off tops to jalapenos2. Remove seeds and the membrane that attaches the seed core to the jalapeno (this is where the jalapenos "heat" is. By removing it thoroughly, you will have a milder jalapeno.3. Combine cream cheese, minced (or diced) turkey ham, dried cilantro, curry powder, and garlic in a bowl and mix thoroughly.4. Stuff jalapenos to the top with cream cheese mixture.5. Put 1/4 slice maple cured bacon over top of jalapeno to secure the cream cheese mixture and fasten bacon over top of jalapeno with toothpicks.6. You can cook these on a cookie sheet, or use a jalapeno cooker (available at a store that sells grill supplies -- holds the jalapeno upright during cooking). Cook at 350 degrees until bacon is brown and jalapeno has softened -- approximately 20 minutes.Note: The salt in the bacon also helps take the heat out of the jalapeno. You can experiment with changing flavors of the cream cheese, experimenting with different curry powders and altering the quantities of the condiments. But my children (all 8 of them) love these -- even the girls who don't like spicy food. They are great for parties, too.The key here is portion control.
