This is an adjustment to a recipe found in Good Food Fast Cookbook. Instead of three cups of broth I found two is just as satisfying without the added sodium etc. and just boiled the dry lentils lightly salted water until tender. Very satisfying, healthy and delicious!

The ingredients for Turkey, Lentil and Spinach Pasta are:

1/2 lb ground turkey or chicken
1 small/medium onion chopped
2 cloves garlic
8 oz spinach (chopped if using regular)
1/2 cup dried lentil or 1 cup already softened/cooked
5 oz ( I used a third of Barilla 1 lb box) Medium shells
2 Tbsp tomato paste
1/2 cup water (from cooked lentils preferred but not necessary)
Salt & Pepper to taste

Here is how you make Turkey, Lentil and Spinach Pasta:

If you are using dry lentils, begin by cooking them on medium heat until tender. You may also cook the pasta and set both aside when they are done. In the mean time, saute the onions and garlic in a little cooking spray. then add the turkey and brown. Once fully cooked add the tomato paste, two cups chicken broth (or two cups water plus 2 bouillons), 1/2 cup water (from cooked lentils if possible)and lentils. Cook until it thickens and then turn down to med/low. Add spinach. Once the spinach is wilted you can turn the heat off, add the pasta and serve.
