What Are The Ingredients For Smoky Turkey Shepherd's Pie (RR) Recipe?The ingredients for Smoky Turkey Shepherd's Pie (RR) are: 3 large baking potatoes, peeled & cubed2 TB "EVOO" 1/4 lb. turkey bacon 1 pkg. ground turkey breast (19.2 oz) 1/2 TB paprika 1/2 TB cumin 1 tsp ground thyme 1 onion, chopped 2 carrots, peeled & diced 3 celery ribs, chopped 1 red bell pepper, seeded & chopped 2 cups frozen peas 2 TB all purpose flour 2 cups chicken broth 1 cup fat free sour cream, divided 3 TB butter 1 large egg, beaten S&P to taste * optional garnish: chopped chives * How Do I Make Smoky Turkey Shepherd's Pie (RR)?Here is how you make Smoky Turkey Shepherd's Pie (RR): Bring a medium pot of water to boil, salt it, and cook potatoes until tender (12-15 minutes).While potatoes are boiling, heat a large, deep skillet over med-high heat. Add EVOO and brown bacon. Then add ground turkey to pan & break up. Season with paprika, cumin, thyme, salt & pepper.Once turkey is browned, add onions, carrots, and celery. Cook 5 minutes, then add bell pepper and peas. Cook another 2 minutes, then stir in flour and cook another 2 minutes. Whisk in broth to combine, then add 1/2 cup sour cream and simmer over low heat. Turn on oven's broiler.Once potatoes are tender, add a ladle of cooking water to the beaten egg. Drain potatoes and return to pot. Add 1/2 cup sour cream, butter, and S&P. Smash potatoes, then mix in the beaten egg mixture. If potatoes become too thick or dry, add a splash of milk or broth.Pour turkey & veggie mixture into a medium casserole dish. Top with mashed potato mixture, spreading evenly. Place casserole 5 inches from hot broiler. Cook until golden at edges.
