1 cup uncooked brown rice

2 tbsp. I can't believe it's not butter
1/8 cup wheat flour
1/3 cup shredded parmesan cheese
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. garlic powder
ground black pepper

Here is how you make Turkey pepper rice alfredo:

Start by cooking rice in 2 cups water. While rice is cooking, chop onion and peppers. Cook ground turkey until no longer pink; drain off fat. Put cooked turkey into a bowl and set aside.Cook onion and peppers with a little cooking spray until desired tenderness (I like them soft, about 15 minutes). When rice is cooked, make alfredo sauce:Melt 2 tbsp. butter in saucepan over medium heat.Once melted, whisk in flour. Whisk constantly to prevent burning. When warmed through, whisk milk into saucepan. Whisk occasionally to prevent milk from burning or sticking to bottom and sides of pot.When milk mixture starts to simmer, turn heat down to medium-low and add nutmeg, garlic powder and black pepper. When mixture is thick enough to coat the back of a spoon, add in shredded parmesan cheese. Turn heat down to low. Whisk to combine and once parmesan is melted, turn off heat. Sauce will thicken a bit while it cools.When sauce is thick enough to heavily coat the back of a spoon, combine all ingredients (turkey, vegetables, rice and sauce) in large pan (I put it all in the frying pan I cooked the vegetables in). Mix to combine.Leave on medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes to heat everything through. Serve and enjoy!!
