In a large nonstick skillet with high edges (or dutch oven) over med-high heat, cook sausage until browned breaking apart any large pieces with a wooden spoon (5 minutes). Reduce the heat to medium and add the onions (it will seem like a lot but will cook down). cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions are carmelized (about 10-15 minutes). Add broth, cook until heated through 3-5 minutes.Meanwhile, in a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the pasta according to instructions. Drain and add to the sausage. Stir well.
