What Are The Ingredients For Kim's Turkey and Veggies Spaghetti Recipe?

The ingredients for Kim's Turkey and Veggies Spaghetti are:

2 mild turkey italian sausage links, chopped to desired size
1 cup green peppers, chopped
1 cup onions, chopped
1 cup sliced mushrooms (or you can chop them, I just used pre-sliced mushroo ms)
2 garlic cloves, minced (I cheated and used the jarred minced garlic)
1 can Hunts No Added Sugar Italian Style Sauce (Read: spaghetti sauce), 26 oz.*
1 12oz package Fred Meyer brand whole wheat spaghetti**

*Note: Not all spaghetti sauces have the same caloric content. I think this is the lowest possible calorie spaghetti sauce, at 35 calories per 1/2 cup. You could do regular hunts if you cannot find the no added sugar kind, it is only 50 calories. Fred Meyer had it right next to the traditional hunts spaghetti sauce.
**Note: The fred meyer brand whole wheat spaghetti (not Kroger, it's actually called Fred Meyer), was lower than the other brands in calories, so watch it if your spaghetti has more calories. Also the whole wheat spaghetti had 6g fiber and 7g protein, whereas normal spaghetti does not have as high fiber or protein, so it's important to get the whole wheat kind.
I have noticed on a lot of things now that the fred meyer brand is more nutritious than name brands, including yogurt! I haven't found any yogurt that beat fred meyer's lite yogurt in calories (8oz yogurt is 100 calories). I digress; back to the recipe.

How Do I Make Kim's Turkey and Veggies Spaghetti?

Here is how you make Kim's Turkey and Veggies Spaghetti:

Spray a big pot with nonstick cooking spray (or you can use olive oil but I'm trying to save calories here), cook chopped turkey sausage on medium heat until just brown. While cooking the sausage, start the water cooking for the spaghetti. Try to time it that spaghetti will be done not long after sauce is done. Add onions, green peppers, and mushrooms to the sausage. Cook until veggies are tender, adding garlic just before done. Add spaghetti sauce, turning down heat so it doesn't splatter. Heat thoroughly. Serve on the cooked whole wheat spaghetti. Great with kraft grated parmesan cheese, only 20 cals for 2 tsps. I also served corn on the cob as a side. Almost any veggie would go great with it I think.Makes 6 servings: spaghetti's serving is 1/6th of package (1/6th of total cooked of course), and the sauce is about 3/4-1 cup per serving.Number of Servings: 6Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user KDA1981.
