This great autumn dish features two of my favorite things: Indian cuisine and Brussel Sprouts. I serve this alongside a daal or chickpea dish and some brown rice. It's comfort food for body and soul. Note - I use peanut oil because it has a higher smoking point than olive oil. Any vegetable oil works just as well.

5 clove Garlic
2 1tsp Peanut Oil
1 tsp Mustard seed, yellow
.5 cup Chickpea Flour (Garbanzo Bean Flour) (by DEECAFFEINATED)
0.5 tsp Cayenne Pepper (Ground)
.25 tsp ground tumeric (by INSPIREDBYCHJ)
.5 tsp Cumin seed
1 tsp Salt


How Do I Make Pan-Roasted Brussel Sprouts?

Here is how you make Pan-Roasted Brussel Sprouts:

1. Heat the oil in a wide saucepan. Add the mustard seeds. When they begin to sputter, add the onions and garlic.2. Sprinkle on some salt and saut? stirring frequently, until the onions are translucent.3. Add the Brussel Sprouts and stir to mix. Turn the heat to low. Cover, string every 3-4 minutes. 4. Meanwhile, mix the chickpea flour into a small bowl with 3/4 cup of water with cayenne, turmeric and cumin.5. When the sprouts are lightly golden brown and almost al dente, pour the chickpea mixture into the sprouts. Cook for another 10 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens. 6.
