What Are The Ingredients For Vegetarian Cabbage Rolls Recipe? The ingredients for Vegetarian Cabbage Rolls are: 1 C Dixie Diner Beef Not1 Can Stewed tomatoes 15oz (mashed) 1/4 cup Royal Basmati Rice 5 cloves of garlic, crushed 4 large outer Cabbage leaves carefully removed from the head. Basil, 2 tsp dry or to taste. Mrs Dash Bertolli's Organic Traditional Sauce Water if needed How Do I Make Vegetarian Cabbage Rolls? Here is how you make Vegetarian Cabbage Rolls: First, crush your stewed tomatoes in a sauce pan, add crushed garlic and a cup of Beef Not. Let it sit while you prepare the cabbage leaves. Cut the leaves carefully, one at a time, off the head by slicing the base of the leaf and peeling the ends off part way. Then loosen the base of the leaf till it pops off the head. Do this till you have 4 leaves without too many tears. Place them in boiled water until they go just limp enough to bend without breaking, then cool them quickly in cold water. Set aside. Now that the ground Beef Not is plumped up from the liquid of the stewed tomatoes, add the rice. If there is no liquid left in the pan, add a 1/2 cup of water, then simmer until the mixture is just a bit wet but easy to handle. Add the basil and Mrs Dash, stir then let cool until you can handle it without burning your skin. Don't worry if the rice isn't completely cooked. Now, check the cabbage for thick spines, slice any really thick areas off, but do not cut through the leaf. Lay the leaf , spine toward you, and scoop 1/4 of the meat/rice mix into the leaf. Fold the sides toward the center (just a bit) and then gently roll the spine over the filling, away from yourself. Put the seam side down on the baking dish. It helps form the rolls in the baking dish you plan to bake it in. . Continue until all 4 rolls are snugly positioned in the baking dish. You can use a pyrex dish or a bread pan works fine. Just try to use something the same general size as the rolls so they have some support. Top the rolls with a cup of the sauce. I used Bertolli's but any good sauce will do. During the last 10 minutes of baking, lay 2 slices of Swiss Cheese, cut in half , one over each roll. I served this with pan sauteed mushrooms and a slice of toasted bread.Makes 4 single servings Bake at 350 for 45 minutes, serve hot!Number of Servings: 4Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user DANGERKITTEN.What's The Nutritional Info For Vegetarian Cabbage Rolls? The nutritional information for Vegetarian Cabbage Rolls is:
