2 bunches of Broccoli DiRabe washed and bottoms cut off
1 lb pk chicken boneless and no skin
1 tbs salt
1 small can low fat chicken broth
Parmesean cheese grated
1 small onion diced
1 lb ziti regular or wheat
1/2 cup light olive oil
2 teaspoons butter unsalted (for finishing sauce)
5 cloves garlic minced
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes


How Do I Make Ziti w/Broccoli DiRabe and Chicken Family Style?

Here is how you make Ziti w/Broccoli DiRabe and Chicken Family Style:

Cut up chicken in bite sized pieces and friy in a small amount of oil until almost cooked through. Put on side. Cook ziti as directed reserving 1 cup of pasta water before draining. Using a colander rinse off broccoli di rabe with cold water and cut off ends. Cut broccoli in half pieces. In a large pot saute onion and garlic in olive oil on low without lid for 2 minutes don't burn garlic. Add broccoli, salt, crushed red flakes and 1/2 cup reserved pasta water, and stir. Cover and cook for 10-12 minutes on medium heat stir at the halfway point. Add chicken w/its own juices, chicken stock, water, unsalted butter. Cook on med/high and reduce until sauce has thickened a little. Put ziti in pasta bowl and pour broccoli and chicken mixture on top.
