Dredge the chicken in the flour, coating completely and shaking off the excess. In a large Dutch oven, over medium-high heat, add the oil. When hot, add the chicken and brown for 3-4 minutes per side. Do in batches if necessary to avoid crowding the chicken and "steaming" it. Remove the chicken and set aside.Add the onions. Season with salt and crushed red pepper. Saute for 5 minutes. Add the mushrooms, chopped red pepper and garlic and continue to saute for 5 minutes. Stir in the tomato paste and cook for two minutes. Add wine, tomatoes and stock. Bring the mixture to a boil. Stir in the bay leaf, thyme and basil, then add the chicken back to the mixture. Reduce the heat to medium, cover, and simmer for 1 hour, or until tender.
