2 pounds ground chuck
1/2 cup onion, minced
2 - 6 oz. cans tomato paste
2 8z. cans tomato sauce
1 tsp. dried basil
1 tsp. dried parsley
salt
1 tsp sugar
dash garlic salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 3oz. cans mushroom slices
1 - 10 oz. pkg. frozen spinach, thawed
1 pound creamed cottage cheese
1 - 8 oz. pkg. mozzarella cheese, shredded


How Do I Make Polish Lasagna?

Here is how you make Polish Lasagna:

In large skillet, saute ground chuck and onion until meat loses its pink color. Drain. Add tomato paste, tomato sauce, basil, parsley, salt, sugar, garlic salt and pepper.Add mushroom slices to meat mixture. Simmer, over low heat uncovered, 10 minutes, stirring often or till thickened. Then, with spoon, divide into 5 equal parts; set aside. Shred the mozzarella.Squeeze out as much liquid as possible from thawed spinach. In medium bowl, with fork, combine spinach, cottage cheese and a dash of salt. Mark off this mixture in 5 equal parts; set aside.Heat oven to 375 degrees. In a 13x9x2 baking dish, arrange alternately in lengthwise strips 3 portions of spinach mixture and 2 portions of meat mixture, covering bottom of baking dish, sprinkle with half of the mozzarella cheese. Arrange a top layer over cheese of 3 portions meat mixture and 2 portions of spinach mixture. Sprinkle rest of shredded cheese over top.Bake 25-30 minutes or until bubbling not.
