2/3 cup rolled oats (ground almost to coarse flour)

Here is how you make Baked Black Bean Burgers:

Preheat oven to 400F. Grease a cookie sheet or line with parchment paper and set aside.Drain the beans of all excess liquid thru a strainer.In a large mixing bowl, mash black beans with a potato masher until mostly pureed but still some half beans and bean parts are left. Stir in condiments and spices until well combined. Then mix in the oats.Drop one large heaping tablespoon onto oiled sheet. Then press down to flatten into thin patties. Use two baking trays, 6 patties per tray. The tray on the bottom oven rack will cook faster, so check the bottom tray first. After flipping the burgers, switch the trays on top and bottom oven racks so that they cook evenly.Bake for 12 minutes on the first side, then another 12 minutes on the second side.Serving Size:?12 burgers (about 2.3 oz per burger)
