This is a light lunch or dinner item that is filling and easy to prepare. This is one of my daughter's favorite meals. Freshest ingredients are better for you, but it is more economical to buy the pepper stir fry in the frozen section at the grocery store. At my local store it costs about $1.50 for the bag.

What Are The Ingredients For Tex Mex Recipe?

The ingredients for Tex Mex are:

8 ounce round steak
4 ten inch flour tortillas
1 Yellow pepper diced
1 Red pepper diced
1 medium tomato diced OR one 14.5 can diced tomatos, no salt added, drained
1 medium onion diced
3/4 cup shredded low fat cheddar or colby cheese
1 cup salsa

Fresh ingredients are best but it is more economical and faster to prepare to buy a frozen pepper stir fry with the peppers and onion already cut.


How Do I Make Tex Mex?

Here is how you make Tex Mex:

Cook the steak and cut into bite sized cubes. Set to the side. In a large skillet, combine the peppers, onion and tomatos and cook just until they are tender-crisp. Add the cooked steak and heat through. Place 1/4 mixture into each tortilla and sprinkle with cheese. Add salsa if desired.
