3 cubes chicken boullion
1 Tbsp veggie soup base (I use one from an Asian market)
6 cups water
black pepper to taste (about 1 tsp.)

Here is how you make Slow Cooker Split Pea Soup:

Heat oil in slow cooker on high.Chop veggies and add to heated oil. Add dash of salt. Let sweat approximately 10 minutes, or until it smells good. Stir occasionally.Rinse peas and remove any rocks. Add to pot. Add water, boullions, and pepper. Stir. Cover and cook until peas are soft and partially broken-down in broth. Approximately 3 hours. Stir occasionally.
